As a critical player within FortisBC, the Power Line Technician position focuses on hands-on responsibilities as well as team-oriented tasks. You will be performing standby duties, assisting in training, and executing tasks typically undertaken by lower classifications. Your expertise will help ensure a safe and reliable energy service for 1.3 million customers across B.C.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform standby duties as assigned to ensure operational readiness
• Assist in training recent employees and apprentices effectively
• Conduct tasks assigned to lower classification roles as needed
Requirements:
• Hold an Interprovincial Certification as a Power Line Technician
• Familiar with electric utility transmission and distribution systems
• Valid Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement
• Flexible with on-call, overtime, and travel requirements
• Commitment to safety and teamwork culture
