Mallard Medical Clinic is a modern family medicine practice dedicated to providing high-quality, patient-centered care. We are expanding our preventive health services and are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead our PAP Smear Clinic.
Responsibilities
Perform cervical cancer screening (Pap tests) according to Ontario guidelines.
Obtain relevant medical and gynecological histories.
Educate patients about cervical cancer screening, HPV testing, and follow-up recommendations.
Prepare examination rooms and ensure proper infection prevention and control practices.
Collect, label, and prepare specimens for laboratory processing.
Document assessments and procedures accurately in OSCAR EMR.
Assist the physician with women's health services when required.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with PHIPA regulations.
Promote a welcoming, respectful, and patient-centered environment.
Qualifications
Current registration in positive standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
Current CPR certification.
Previous experience performing Pap smears independently is required .
Experience in family medicine, primary care, or women's health is strongly preferred.
Experience using OSCAR EMR is considered a strong asset.
Excellent communication and patient education skills.
Professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Schedule
Part-time.
Flexible weekday and/or weekend hours.
One or more dedicated PAP clinic sessions per week, with the chance for additional hours as the clinic grows.
