Wood is recruiting an Industrial Millwright / Mechanical Fitter Adhoc (Casual /Temporary) to join its Operations team focusing on the oil and gas petrochemical industry.
This prospect is offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, working on an as needed, call-out basis.
As an Industrial Millwright / Mechanical Fitter, you will install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
As well as planning and executing millwright activities in accordance with drawings and specifications.
Within this role you will work in confined spaces and/or at heights, in outdoor and extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
The Role Location: Offshore Newfoundland and Labrador Site / Office based: Hibernia Platform Hours of work: 12 hours per day Rotation / work pattern: Call out, as needed Required: Site-specific medical, drug and alcohol testing Unionized position: Rates follow the Collective Bargaining Agreement You will be working in confined spaces and/or at heights, as well as noisy conditions.
Work may be indoors or outdoors, and at extreme temperatures.

What makes you remarkable? As a successful candidate you will have completed 4 Period Apprenticeship (minimum of 1,560hrs per period, directly related to the trade),
followed by Journeyperson Certification OR a valid Journeyperson Certificate issued by another Canadian province or Territory with Interprovincial Red Seal Certification OR provides evidence of a minimum of 6,240 hours of experience directly related to the trade.
All employees are required to demonstrate competence in their trade.
The following offshore certificates and training are required and would be considered an asset: Basic Survival Training (BST) including HUET and HUEBA Rigging, Slinging, and Banksman Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) Alive Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015) Offshore Safety Regulatory Awareness Fall Protection Confined Space Entry Emergency First Aid When submitting your application to Wood please upload all your relevant Certifications .
Physical Requirements Must pass a site-specific drug and alcohol test and CAPP Medical as required by the customer Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50lbs Must possess enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above Able to move and work in confined spaces, following proper protocol May be required consistently to work 12-hour shifts performing physical labor in varying temperature extremes and conditions.
May be required to work overtime on occasion Must be able to climb and maintain balance on stairs, ladders, scaffolds and steel framework, utilizing proper fall arrest procedures when required.
Able to safely and comfortably work at heights without posing a danger to oneself or others Able to meet physical requirements of frequent walking, climbing, standing, bending, twisting and crawling for the duration of the shift undefined
