Surrey Police Service (SPS) is Surrey's new municipal police agency. On November 29, 2024,SPS became the police of jurisdiction, and assumed responsibility and commandfor policing and law enforcement in Surrey. POSITION OVERVIEW Surrey Police Service (SPS) has an exciting opportunity for aRegular Full-Time Clerk 2 – Information Services to join our Information Management & Technology Division , within the Corporate Services Bureau. Reporting to the Records Team Manager, the incumbent Performs entry level clerical work including repetitive tasks oflimited complexity.
Work may include gathering information, processingdocuments at a routine level, and performing various office duties.
Key responsibilities Schedule / Hours of Work The anticipated schedule for thisposition is 7:00 to 15:00. Please note, the hours are subject to change basedon operational needs and adherence to the Collective Agreement.
RESPONSIBILITIES Organizesand manages office records, including files, reports, invoices, andrequisitions.
Prepares,processes and formats documents, forms, letters and other routinecorrespondence.
Handlesincoming and outgoing correspondence, including opening, distributing, andfiling documents.
Performsmathematical calculations manually and/or using digital tools.
Performsdata collection and entry.
Providesinformation to the public and others concerning departmental rules andregulations, referring complex or unusual problems to a supervisor.
Operatesa variety of office equipment.
Usesrelevant software and applications.
Assistsother staff in performing their duties.
Performsrelated duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS Completion of Grade 12, supplemented bycourses in office administration or other related courses.
A minimum 1-year experience in an officeenvironment.
A minimum typing speed of 40 words per minuteis required.
An equivalent combination of education andexperience may be considered.
Allapplicants must obtain and maintain the required police clearance throughouttheir employment with SPS. This role also requires RCMP Reliability Status(security clearance).

This is a unionized position, representedby CUPE 402.
The salary range is $28.43/hour -$30.12/hour (pay grade 009) based on 2024 rates.
