Our Financial Services Client is looking for a Data Engineering Team Lead toprovide technical leadership and direction for the organizations data engineering capabilities.

Overview: The role sets engineering standards, designs scalable and secure data architectures, and leads to complex, cross-team data initiatives.

While remaining hands-on, you will influence platform strategy, mentor engineers, and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, governance, and business priorities.

This is Permanent role, % Remote, Vancouver, BC preferred, open to BC, Ontario candidates.

Must Have: 8+years of industry experience in Data Engineering with lead/mentoring/guiding junior resources and relatedfield handling data processing and transformation of disparate datasets, data modelling Experience with big data and analytics programming languages such as Python, R,



Spark in Databricks Experience with batch and real-time processing frameworks ( Event

Hub, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, etc.) Delta Lake Optimization: Using Liquid Clustering and Z-Ordering to maximize read throughput for heavy AI model training.

Structured Streaming: Building real-time pipelines with Delta Live Tables and Event Hubs to feed live data to inference engines.

Image & Multi-Modal Processing: Ingesting raw images from ADLS Gen2 , extracting visual features via distributed Spark jobs, and securely managing them using Unity Catalog Volumes .

Nice to Have: Masters degree in Data Science, Analytics, or Business Administration (MBA)
