Work Term: Temporary Work Language: English Hours: 40 hours per week Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years or equivalent experience Asset languages Cantonese Work site environment Corn farming Organic farming Dusty Outdoors Harvest crops All weather conditions Work setting Rural area Relocation costs not covered by employer Staff accommodation provided Tasks Transparent and collect brush and debris from fields, pens and other work areas Consider water saturation, light and temperature when planning for crop growth and development Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots Greenhouse cleaning Harvest seedlings Maintain and manage growth of vines, vine canopy and grapes Mixing fertilizer Seed cutting Train trees to produce more fruit of higher quality Weeding Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment Apply fertilizers Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market Write daily basic progress reports Clean work area Hand harvesting vegetables Clear fields of wood and stones Tie and secure plants Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market.
