This contract role combines traditional practices with crisis intervention in a community-focused environment. As a valued Cultural Advisor, you will report to the Crisis Hub manager, serving as an essential resource for culturally secure service delivery.
The position emphasizes the enhancement of services aligned with Hodinohshoni beliefs. You'll play a critical role in preserving traditional practices, fostering cultural identity and supporting staff and clients during crises. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide competent cultural support to Crisis Hub staff
- Deliver crisis intervention and service coordination
- Instruct staff on Hodinohshoni culture and practices
- Organize cultural workshops and teachings
- Collaborate with community leaders and practitioners Requirements:
- Degree in Indigenous studies with 5+ years in cultural preservation
- Knowledge of Cayuga and/or Mohawk languages
- Experience in crisis support and cultural dynamics
- Hodinohshoni ancestry with cultural understanding
- Valid Driver’s License required Support the integration of cultural identity and well-being at Six Nations of the Grand River.
