Safety Coordinator Heavy Civil Construction Location: Winnipeg, MB (travel to multiple project sites required)Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to support heavy civil construction projects, including underground infrastructure and roadworks.

This role will partner closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to ensure all work ispleted safely, efficiently, and inpliance with applicable legislation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities Implement, monitor, and enforce health & safety programs across multiple active job sites Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, andpliance audits Ensure adherence to occupational health & safety regulations and internal policies Lead site orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training Monitor high-risk activities such as: Trenching and excavation

Confined space work

Hoisting and rigging

Traffic control

Heavy equipment operations Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns; develop corrective action plans Support WCB processes, including incident reporting and return-to-work coordination Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports,



and records Coordinate emergency response planning and drills Provide guidance and support to field teams on safe work practices Maintain and update safety management systems/software Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset Assist in developing project-specific safety documentation Qualifications & Experience Diploma or certification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field 35+ years of safety experience within heavy civil construction Strong knowledge of excavation safety, trenching regulations, and underground utility work Experience working directly with field crews in construction environments Valid First Aid/CPR certification Professional designations such as NCSO, CRSP, CRST, or COR are considered assets Valid drivers license and ability to travel between sites Skills &petencies; Robust hazard identification and risk management capability Excellentmunication and interpersonal skills Ability to influence and promote safe behaviours in the field Highly organized with strong attention to detail Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable Whats Offered Opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects Safety-first work environment Ongoing training and professional development #LI-DNI #1125399 - Jackson Bayles
