The ministry supports Albertans health by delivering secure, person-centered, quality emergency and medical health services; procurement and contract management; supporting innovative information management and technologies; and regulating hospital and emergency health care.

For further information, visit the ministry website at Role Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) /Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), you will provide key leadership in policy related to the development and delivery of the departments strategic policy; lead ministry-wide policy coordination, agency governance and legislative planning; and priority research and acute care workforce related initiatives.

You will oversee and coordinate policy and cabinet submissions ensuring a whole of ministry view, and use data and analytics to enhance research and workforce initiatives.

Your excellent communication, extensive policy and legislative processes, stakeholder relationships, and data analytics skills will lead to your success in this role.

You have experience leading high-performing teams accountable for policy development and coordination, foster strong interpersonal relationships and demonstrate an applied understanding of government and department priorities.

Qualifications Success in this role calls for a progressive leader with a background that includes significant related senior management leadership experience.





You bring demonstrated experience leading teams in policy development and coordination, knowledge of legal documents and instruments, legislative processes and understanding of government and ministry priorities.

Your background also includes an applied understanding of government decision-making, legislative frameworks, accountability processes and policy development mechanisms. A practiced relationship builder, you excel at engaging stakeholders in shaping and implementing high impact initiatives and have familiarity with Federal, Provincial and Territorial partners.

Your capacity to inspire and empower change-agile teams will support you in delivering on key objectives. A related bachelor degree is required and a masters degree is preferred.

Salary $5,896.65 - $7,749.28 bi-weekly ($153,902.57 - $202.256.21 annually) Notes Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.

This is a temporary role up to 24 months in length.
