Supply Chain Director (6-Month Contract) Our client is seeking a Supply Chain Director to lead and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations within the construction materials distribution sector.
Reporting to the General Manager, this leadership role is responsible for developing long-term supply chain strategies, overseeing procurement, logistics, inventory management, and supplier performance, while driving operational efficiency, cost optimization, and service excellence.
The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional leadership to support business growth, strengthen supply chain resilience, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Your success will be defined by your ability to: Develop and execute long-term supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives, customer requirements, and organizational growth plans Partner with executive leadership across Sales, Finance, and Operations to align supply chain initiatives with business priorities and project execution Monitor market trends, supplier performance, and industry risks to proactively manage demand, pricing, and supply continuity Optimize sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, distribution networks, and inventory management to improve operational performance and cost efficiency Lead supplier negotiations, contract management, and risk mitigation initiatives while building strong, long-term strategic partnerships Drive the implementation and optimization of ERP, WMS, and other supply chain technologies to improve visibility, scalability,
and operational effectiveness Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making, service improvements, and continuous process optimization Establish inventory planning and replenishment strategies that align with demand forecasts, seasonal trends, and project requirements Promote compliance, sustainability, and best practices across all areas of the supply chain while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team by fostering accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous professional growth Your strengths include: Bachelor''s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced education or qualified certifications are considered an asset 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in supply chain management, preferably within the construction materials, building products, or distribution industry Strong expertise in procurement, logistics, inventory management, transportation, and supplier relationship management Experience developing supply chain strategies, optimizing distribution networks, and driving operational improvements across complex organizations Proficiency with ERP and supply chain systems such as SAP, Oracle, Net
Suite, or similar platforms Fluency in English and French is considered an asset Valid driver''s license and willingness to travel regularly to supplier locations, branch offices, warehouses, and project sites as required
