Job Title: Band Saw Operator Location - Calgary Shift - Days Mon - Fri 6am - 3.30pm Wage - $22-25/hr.

Job Description The Band Saw Operator primarily runs a vertical band saw to perform angle cuts on structural steel while also handling materials, assisting the welding team, operating a sit-down forklift, and performing general cleanup duties.

Responsibilities Operate a vertical band saw for approximately 80% of the workday to perform angle cuts on structural steel components such as C channel, I-beam, and other steel objects.

Read and interpret blueprints, prints, and bills of material to determine correct measurements, angles, and cutting requirements.

Handle and move pipe, raw metal, and finished product throughout the facility using appropriate material handling methods and equipment.

Use jib cranes to safely lift, position, and move heavy steel objects and structural components.

Drive and operate a sit-down forklift to transport materials and products within the production area.

Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience operating a band saw in a production or industrial environment.

Hands-on experience with metal and pipe cutting, including working with structural steel such as C channel and I-beam.

Proficiency in general machine operation and safe use of hand and power tools in a production setting.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, prints, and bills of material to perform accurate cuts and material preparation.
