About the Opportunity Match
Box Consulting Group is partnering with our client , a leading hydrogeological consulting firm, to recruit an Intermediate Hydrogeologist / Hydrogeological Engineer to join their growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated hydrogeology professional looking to advance their career while working alongside a team of experienced hydrogeologists, engineers, environmental scientists, GIS specialists, and technical experts on complex groundwater projects across Western Canada.
Youll have the opportunity to take on increasing technical responsibility, lead projects, work directly with clients, and receive mentorship from senior and principal hydrogeologists with decades of industry experience.
What You''ll Do As an Intermediate Hydrogeologist / Hydrogeological Engineer, you will support and lead groundwater assessment, monitoring, and management projects across municipal, mining, oilsands, and industrial sectors.
Key responsibilities include: Manage and provide technical leadership on groundwater assessment and monitoring programs.
Develop project scopes, work plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
Manage project delivery to ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and aligned with client expectations.
Support conceptual site model development and complex hydrogeological assessments.
Prepare technical reports, proposals, and client deliverables.
Conduct technical reviews and contribute to project planning and execution.
Support field programs including groundwater monitoring, drilling programs, pumping/injection testing, and well installation activities.
Collaborate with project teams, senior hydrogeologists, engineers, clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
Participate in technical meetings and communicate project findings effectively.
Assist junior staff with technical guidance and field/office-based tasks.
What We''re Looking For The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented hydrogeology professional with strong technical fundamentals, consulting experience, and the ability to manage projects independently.
Qualifications include:
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Geological Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline. 5+ years of relevant consulting and/or industry experience.
Professional designation with APEGA and/or EGBC, or eligibility for registration.
Experience managing technical projects and preparing professional reports.
Strong understanding of groundwater legislation and regulations in Western Canada.
Experience completing complex hydrogeological assessments and/or conceptual site model development.
Experience with: Water well drilling programs Depressurization wells Pumping and injection testing Regional groundwater monitoring programs Prior field experience is required.
Solid communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
Preference will be given to candidates with Alberta or BC consulting experience.
