We are seeking a motivated and dependable Slab Pick Up & Delivery Driver to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting large slabs of materials from the warehouses in Vancouver to our showroom. Your expertise in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and attention to safety will ensure timely deliveries and excellent service. Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks and heavy equipment, including forklifts, for loading and unloading slabs of material
- Pick up slabs from suppliers or storage facilities and deliver them to designated job sites or customer locations
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure safety and compliance with regulations
- Assist with securing loads properly to prevent damage during transit
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site personnel to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and vehicle maintenance records
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep vehicles in optimal condition
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Air brakes license or willing to get it (must have to drive the truck)
- Experience operating forklifts, heavy equipment, and freight transportation vehicles
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to freight handling and heavy equipment operation
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary
- Robust organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and safety procedures
- Physical ability to lift heavy slabs and work in various weather conditions
- Prior experience in construction, manufacturing, or related industries is a plus
