Summit Air is hiring for a full time permanent Maintenance Planner to join the team on a full-time permanent basis. In your new position you will report to the Maintenance Operations Manager, and be responsible for performing maintenance planning activities for the Summit Air taking into consideration operational requirements, staffing, budgeting, and other projects.In this role you will collaborate closely with various department to create effective maintenance plans while adhering to regulatory compliance and operational requirements.Summit Air, headquartered in Yellowknife, NWT, operates across Canada, specializing in passenger charters, cargo transport, and customized flight solutions for industry-leading clients with a legacy of excellence in northern and remote aviation. We’re growing our fleet across Canada and are seeking experienced Maintenance Planner.This position is a resident role based out of either Edmonton or Yellowknife, NT.Essential Responsibilities
Forecasts and develops the long-term and short-term projections for maintenance planning with a goal to minimize impact to the operations and take into consideration the impact to staffing levels, budgeting, and other projectsCoordinates the acquisition of parts, materials and tooling as required by maintenance operationsPerforms schedules and builds work packages for maintenance tasks, airworthiness directives, service bulletins and Supplemental Type Certifications (STCs)Coordinates administrative control over maintenance planning, including budgets, forecasted hours,
and job costingCoordinates and communicates with Operations to ensure sufficient operating hours and the scheduling of aircraft out of serviceEnsures all scheduled maintenance is completed within allotted timelinesSupports the maintenance team with the application and control of minimum equipment lists (MELs), deferred defects, and monitoring of recurring defectsQualifications
A College, Trade or Technical Diploma in Aviation/Aircraft Maintenance is preferred4+ years of Aircraft Maintenance is preferred, but strong maintenance planners will also be consideredPrevious maintenance planning & supervisory experience preferredKnowledge of aircraft maintenance schedules, including maintenance planning documents, schedule approvals, and airworthiness limitationsProficient computer skills with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), aircraft and inventory tracking systemsProven ability to identify and implement improvements to processes, and increase efficiencyFamiliarity with budgeting and job costing highly preferredTask-oriented with an excellent sense of priority, logic and objectivity;
highly organized and capable of managing multiple prioritiesWorking Conditions
Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm shift timeOn-Site in either Edmonton or Yellowknife locationsAdditional Information
