Duties
- Lay underground pipes using heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and bucket trucks to ensure precise placement.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and rigging equipment safely to assist in pipe installation and adjustments.
- Perform excavation tasks with excavators and backhoes, ensuring proper trenching according to project specifications.
- Handle welding tasks for pipe connections when required, maintaining high safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of installed piping systems for leaks or defects, making necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Assist with electrical work related to low voltage systems associated with piping infrastructure when needed.
- Maintain all safety protocols during operation of heavy machinery, including bucket operation and low voltage electrical work.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and pipe installation techniques.
- Experience operating excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, especially low voltage wiring used in utility projects.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and welding techniques.
- Ability to operate bucket operation machinery and perform trenching with precision.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites.
- Strong physical stamina to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
