- Shift: Continental shift - 7 to 7 rotates every 2 weeks, 2 days on 3 days off; 3 days on 2 days off
The role involves cutting steel strips to precise widths using programming software, completing customer work orders accurately and on time. Candidates should have 2–3 years of experience, strong measurement and quality inspection skills, and the ability to read and complete various production documents. Basic troubleshooting, knowledge of measuring tools and programming software, and computer skills are required. Crane training eligibility, attention to detail, and excellent attendance are essential. This is a full-time position on continental shifts, starting as a 3-month contract with the potential for permanent employment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Set up, operate, and monitor cutting machines to process materials to specified dimensions
- Safely load and unload coils, making necessary machine adjustments for optimal performance
- Read and interpret work orders to accurately cut steel strips using machine controls and programming systems
- Perform in-process quality inspections to ensure all measurements and tolerances meet required standards
- Maintain accurate production records,
including work orders, measurement logs, quality reports, and OEE data
- Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and tape measures; perform unit conversions as needed
- Troubleshoot basic machine and workflow issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity
- Operate overhead cranes safely for material handling and positioning
