Hand Crew, will be part of a team responsible for the installation and maintenance of pavement markings on municipal roads, highways, parking lots, and other roadways throughout Ontario. This hands-on role involves operating specialized pavement marking equipment, interpreting project drawings, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate walk-behind paint striping machines to apply pavement markings.
- Operate MMA (Methyl Methacrylate) spray equipment for durable road marking applications.
- Operate thermoplastic and cold plastic pavement marking equipment.
- Install preformed thermoplastic pavement markings and symbols.
- Read and interpret contract drawings, specifications, and work orders.
- Perform layout and pre-marking activities to ensure accurate placement of pavement markings.
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices and work zones in accordance with safety regulations.
- Conduct equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and cleaning to ensure operational readiness.
- Safely load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Safely operate company vehicles and equipment.
- Work collaboratively with crew members to complete projects on schedule and to quality standards.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned
Experience
- Willing to travel (within Ontario)
- Willing to outdoors in various weather conditions and work shifts (nights, and weekends when needed)
- Capable of lifting 25kg
- Protected operation of company vehicles
- Previous WHIMIS and TDG training is an asset
- Book - 7 training is preferred
- Propane handling experience is an asset
- First aid certificate is an asset
- Forklift training is preferred
- Previous road maintenance experience is an asset
