Position: Installer Helper / Apprentice Flooring Installer

At Samurai Hardwood Flooring, we believe that craftsmanship is built through hands-on learning, mentorship, and taking pride in every project. We are looking for an enthusiastic Installer Helper who wants to build a long-term career in the flooring industry.

This is an entry-level position with a clear pathway to becoming a Lead Flooring Installer. You'll work alongside experienced installers while learning every aspect of our trade—from warehouse organization and deliveries to floor preparation, installation, and hardwood refinishing.

What You'll DoDeliveries & Warehouse Support

- Deliver flooring and materials safely to job sites.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
- Help organize and maintain the warehouse.
- Ensure company vehicles are clean, stocked, and ready for work.
- Assist with inventory and material handling.

Job Site Preparation

- Protect clients' homes before work begins.
- Remove existing flooring and assist with demolition.
- Clean and prepare subfloors.
- Learn moisture testing and site assessments.
- Assist with floor levelling and substrate preparation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout each project.

Installation Assistance

Working alongside experienced installers, you'll learn:

- Hardwood flooring installation
- Engineered hardwood installation
- Laminate and vinyl plank installation
- Tile installation assistance
- Stair installation
- Trim and finishing work
- Proper use and care of qualified tools and equipment
- Quality control and finishing details

Hardwood Sanding & Refinishing

You'll also receive training in:

- Dust containment and site preparation
- Sanding equipment and techniques
- Staining processes
- Applying Bona finishing systems
- Screen and recoat maintenance services
- Daily equipment cleaning and maintenance

Site Clean-Up

- Sweep and vacuum job sites daily.




- Remove debris and recycling.
- Leave every project clean and ready for the client.
- Help with final project walkthrough preparations.

What We're Looking For

- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools (training provided).
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Professional and respectful when working in clients' homes.
- Team player who takes pride in quality workmanship.
- Punctual, organized, and dependable.

Previous construction or flooring experience is an asset but not required. We are happy to train the right person.

This position is designed to develop you into a skilled Flooring Installer.

Pay: $18.25-$23.00 per hour
