Our Interview Process

Stage 1: Phone Screening

- Questions about the candidate's resume, introduction to the position, and any clarifying questions for the job from the candidate.

Stage 2: In-Person Interview + Weld test

- Invite for an in-person, more detailed questions about the logistics of the position, a discussion about start dates, and conducting a weld test with our manufacturing area leader

Selection process should be completed by the end of August; please have your references handy if selected for an in-person!

PURPOSE

EXD is seeking to hire a full time Welder/ Exhaust Pipe Bender to operate MIG welder, Bender, Expander and other machines as required for the fabrication of both stainless steel and aluminium products. The successful candidate will support our Manufacturing area leader in the design and assembly of jigs & follow EXD processes

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Operate MIG Welder on stainless steel and aluminium

· Operate other machines as required (bending, cutting, expanding, etc.)

· Train in the design and assembly of jigs following EXD processes

· Maintain housekeeping and safety standards as specified

· Provide back-up support for other job classifications or other duties as required

JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

· MIG welding





· Machining skills (Expander, Bender, Cutting equipment)

· Knowledge of Automotive exhaust manufacturing

· Attention to quality

· Strong teamwork skills

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

· High school education (or equivalent)

· MIG welding: 3 years+ (Automotive Preferred)

· Jig Building (Preferred)

· Pipe bending: 1 year (Preferred)

· Ability to read & follow welding procedures

· Availability to be scheduled Monday-Friday 7:30 till 4:00

· Reliable transportation as EXD is not located on a public transportation route

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Heavy lifting (approx. 50 lbs)

· Extreme seasonal temperatures

· Noisy working setting

· Work under minimum supervision

· Welding fumes, heat and glare from equipment.
