Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Dental Receptionist to join our team. As a Dental Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and administrative support in a dental office setting. Your role will involve scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and assisting with various front desk duties.
Duties:
- Greet and welcome patients as they arrive at the dental office
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using Dentrix or similar software
- Answer phone calls and address patient inquiries or concerns
- Maintain patient records and update electronic medical records (EMR) system
- Verify insurance coverage and process insurance claims
- Collect payments from patients and provide accurate billing information
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operations
- Assist with general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and organizing documents
Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology related to dental procedures and treatments
- Experience working with Dentrix or similar dental practice management software considered an asset
- Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle multiple phone lines
- Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems for maintaining patient records
- Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar front desk/administrative role in a medical office setting is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and dental staff
