Youth Support Worker

Must be able to work with youth who exhibit challenging behaviours.

We are seeking a caring and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team in part time and casual roles and help us deliver on our mission to provide the highest quality therapy to children and their families by providing the best-personalized support systems necessary. What You Will Do

As a Youth Support Worker, you will provide individualized, person-centered supports to children, youth, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include:

- Build positive, trusting relationships with children, youth, individuals, and their families.
- Serve as a positive role model while promoting dignity, respect, and independence.
- Support individuals with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, household routines, budgeting, shopping, community safety, and communication skills.
- Assist individuals in achieving personal goals outlined in individualized support plans.
- Facilitate recreational, educational, vocational, cultural, social,



and community inclusion activities.
- Promote community participation and inclusion by supporting individuals in accessing community programs, employment, volunteer opportunities, and social activities.
- Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in developing life skills, self-advocacy, emotional regulation, and independence.
- Administer medication in accordance with company policies and complete all required documentation.
- Complete daily documentation, progress notes, incident reports, and required paperwork.
- Collaborate with supervisors, families, educators, healthcare professionals, and community partners.
- Transport individuals safely to appointments, school, employment, recreational activities, and community outings.

The Experience, Expertise and Education We Value

Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, behavioural support, community inclusion, or supported independent living is considered a strong asset.

- Experience in Nursing, Social Services, Home care, Educational Assistant positions, Early Childhood Education, Support Worker, Personal care aid, Human services support.

- Ability to work with/around pets i.e., cats and dogs is required.
- Schedule flexibility - days, evenings, overnight, weekends
