Job Description

Qualifications:

- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
- A minimum of 2 years' current acute medical/surgical (or equivalent) related nursing experience is essential
- Basic arrhythmia interpretation preferred
- Applicants with current acute or critical care nursing experience will be given preference
- Current BCLS/HCP certification is required
- Current ACLS certification and Critical Care certification preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge, sensitivity and expertise in the care of seniors and their families
- Gentle Persuasive Approach training preferred
- Must have demonstrated an interest in ongoing education in Nursing. An interest and active participation in ICU research initiatives is an expectation. A willingness to learn special procedures as approved by the Hospital for Registered Nurses in the critical care area in keeping with the MOHLTC Critical Care Standards is an expectation. Maintaining certification(s)



is a requirement
- Demonstrated ability to organize related activities, to remain flexible, adapt to crisis situations and rapid change and to function effectively in co-operation with all disciplines of the Health Care Team
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, communication, leadership, teamwork and assessment skills
- Applicants must be available for the total orientation program at the scheduled time
- Valuable attendance and work record is essential
- A resume regarding further education, special courses and relevant experience should accompany the application
