Responsibilities
OVERALL PURPOSE:
Prepares the maintenance schedules to support effective maintenance practices, including using labour to minimize equipment downtime, validating parts inventory, and avoiding conflicting facility and labour requirements. Develops and supports the implementation of daily schedules and reviews work requirements established by the maintenance planner to ensure compliance with approved and regulatory maintenance schedules. Analyzes work orders and monitors work plan performance, reviews with the Maintenance Planner, and adjusts to improve the schedule and performance. Schedules and tracks special maintenance or upgrade tasks into regular maintenance schedules.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Schedules work plans provided by the maintenance planner to support the delivery of effective maintenance practices, including the effective use of labour, minimizing equipment downtime, validating parts inventory, and avoiding conflicting facility and labour and permit requirements by:
Prepare and reviews preventive maintenance inspection reports as per the scheduled inspection matrices.
Validating facilities, labour, parts, equipment, permit, and other resources required to perform the maintenance tasks assigned by the maintenance planner.
Performing analyses and preparing reports to assist in development of scheduling system policies, etc.
Assists with scheduling, assigning, and coordinating the work of technical/trades staff and obtaining permit as required.
Supports the implementation of daily maintenance resourcing plans by:
Analyzing daily maintenance requirements and scheduling daily maintenance work plans according to maintenance priorities by the department and availability of facilities, labour, parts, equipment, permit, and other resources.
Monitoring the completion of inspections and work plans.
Maintaining and updating department specific maintenance records.
Providing support to the maintenance planner in ensuring that daily work plans, and work orders are accurately completed and that work plans are followed in an effective manner.
Prepares and reviews daily work orders and maintenance records with the maintenance planner and compares to the daily maintenance work plans including:
Reviewing daily work orders for completeness
Monitoring time allocation in the EAM to ensure time is being charged to correct work order and project.
Checking work orders to ensure completeness and accurate coding.
Ensuring data contained in work orders is entered into system prior to closing work order for continued integrity of maintenance information.
Reviewing unusual or problem work orders with the department’s designate before closing.
Monitoring closed work orders for statistical purposes, if required.
Analyzes work orders and maintenance records to further develop the maintenance planning system by:
Reviewing maintenance tasks, labour requirements and costs in EAM.
Assisting the maintenance planner in identifying the individual tasks required to complete the work, preparing time estimates and identifying materials required to complete each task.
Analyzing variances between estimated and actual time and material requirements to assist the maintenance planner in improving the work and materials estimating process.
Assisting the Maintenance Division in improving preventive and predictive maintenance procedures.
Assisting in the development and implementation of standard work orders.
Schedules and tracks special maintenance or upgrading tasks into regular work plans in discussion with the Maintenance Planner.
Performs related duties as assigned, such being items of a minor nature that do not affect the value of the job, including assisting with short-term coverage for the planner.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
A certificate program in a related maintenance scheduling or planning discipline,
including courses in maintenance planning and scheduling.
Requires a minimum of four (4) years related experience in maintenance
Demonstrated skills and knowledge of maintenance scheduling processes and procedures, including exposure to and detailed knowledge of maintenance systems and costing
Strong analytical skills when developing and recommending resource plans.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Solid computer skills in standard office software tools including word processing and advanced spreadsheet software, statistical packages and use of web-based and data management systems.
Other Information
Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.

40 hours per week.

This position works predominately on-site.
Rate of Pay
Wage: $55.03 per hour
Please note: All current employees will be subject to a 6-week trainee rate at 75% of the hourly rate with the remainder of the first year at 90% of the hourly rate.
