General Labourer / Assembly Technician (Temporary)

Compensation: $22.00 per hour

About the Position
Real Time Networks Inc. is looking for a dependable and motivated General Labourer / Assembly Technician to support our production team on a temporary basis for approximately four to eight weeks.
This position involves light product assembly, warehouse support, packaging, inventory handling, and other general labour duties. The successful candidate must be organized, dependable, able to follow detailed instructions, and committed to producing high quality work in a fast paced environment.
Preference will be given to applicants who live in the Tri Cities or surrounding communities and can reliably commute to our Port Coquitlam facility.
Hours of Work
Monday through Friday
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The workday includes:
- One unpaid 30 minute lunch break
- Two paid 15 minute rest breaks
Additional hours may be available based on business requirements.
Compensation
- $22.00 per hour plus 4% vac pay
- No employee perks
- Temporary employment for approximately four to eight weeks
- Employment may end earlier or be extended depending on business requirements and employee performance
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assemble products and components using written work instructions.
- Perform repetitive assembly work while maintaining quality standards.
- Package completed products for shipment.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Organize parts and materials for production.
- Label products and packaging.
- Count, sort, and organize inventory.
- Receive and stock materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Assist with warehouse duties as required.
- Move materials and products throughout the facility.
- Assist other departments when required.
- Perform other general labour, assembly, warehouse, or production related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess:
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Positive verbal and written English communication skills.
- The ability to read and understand written instructions, labels, and safety procedures in English.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must own CSA approved steel toed safety footwear prior to the first day of work.
- Previous assembly or warehouse experience is an asset but is not required.
Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to:
- Sit or stand for extended periods while performing repetitive work.
- Perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Lift and carry up to 40 pounds safely.
- Bend, reach, twist, and move throughout the workday.
- Work in a warehouse and light manufacturing environment.

- Produce accurate, high quality work.
- Meet established productivity and production expectations.
- Follow all company procedures and work instructions.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and professional conduct.
Employment is contingent upon maintaining acceptable quality and productivity standards. Failure to meet performance expectations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Attendance and Punctuality
Dependability is essential for this position.
Employees are expected to report to work on time for every scheduled shift. Applicants should have reliable transportation and be able to consistently arrive on time. Punctuality and regular attendance are critical requirements of this role. Repeated lateness, unexcused absences,
or failure to report for a scheduled shift without appropriate notice may result in disciplinary action, up to and including immediate termination of employment.
Conditions of Employment
Employment is conditional upon:
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Proof of legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Compliance with all company policies and workplace safety requirements.
- Must own CSA approved steel toed safety footwear prior to the first day of work.
Local Applicants Preferred
This position is based in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.
Preference will be given to applicants who reside in the Tri Cities or surrounding communities and can reliably commute to the workplace each day. While all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, priority consideration will be given to local candidates due to the temporary nature of the position and the importance of reliable attendance.
Eligibility to Apply
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada for the duration of this temporary assignment.
This position requires availability to work the scheduled hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, for the entire four to eight week assignment. Applicants must be able to commit to this schedule without restriction.
