Harbourview Inn & Suites is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities, guest rooms, equipment, and outdoor areas to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our guests and staff. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a wide variety of maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, common areas, and exterior grounds.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical issues.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on hotel equipment and building systems.
- Inspect facilities regularly and identify maintenance or safety concerns.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.
- Repair doors, windows, locks, fixtures, furniture, drywall, flooring, and other building components.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including walkways, parking lots, landscaping, and seasonal snow removal when required.
- Perform painting, patching, caulking, and other general repair work.
- Operate and maintain maintenance tools and equipment safely.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work and completed repairs.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Assist with hotel renovation and improvement projects as needed.




- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers when specialized repairs are required.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in building maintenance, hotel maintenance, or a related trade is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve maintenance problems efficiently.
- Experience using hand and power tools safely.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance logs and work orders are an asset.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Robust communication and teamwork skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs (23 kg), climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver's license is considered an asset.
