Production MIG Welder – Manufacturing (Automotive Shipping Racks)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Production MIG Welder to join our manufacturing team producing automotive shipping racks (containerization systems). This role is responsible for welding and assembling metal components according to specifications while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel and structural components according to drawings and work instructions
- Assemble and weld parts for automotive shipping racks in a production environment
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings
- Ensure weld quality meets company standards and customer specifications
- Perform basic fit-up, layout, and preparation of materials prior to welding
- Inspect completed welds for defects and make necessary corrections
- Operate fabrication tools and equipment such as grinders, saws, and drills as required
- Maintain consistent production output while meeting quality and efficiency targets
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times
- Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with 5S and shop standards
- Communicate any quality, material, or equipment issues to supervisors promptly
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support team production goals
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience as a MIG welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
- Basic knowledge of fabrication tools and measuring equipment
- Physically able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive welding tasks
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
- Welding certification is an asset but not required
Preferred Experience:
- Automotive, structural steel, or metal fabrication experience
- Experience in high-volume production welding environments
- Familiarity with welding jigs and fixtures a major asset

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
