Join Our Team — Make a Difference with Growing Up Hope Society

At Growing Up Hope Society, we believe families are stronger together. With the right supports in place, children can find safety, healing, and connection to their natural families.

We provide culturally relevant, trauma-informed care designed to meet children and youth where they’re at. Our approach focuses on reducing the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and promoting emotional safety through a compassionate, bottom-up model of care.

We are currently hiring Full-Time and Part-Time Residential Support Workers for day, evening and weekend shifts in our Chilliwack, Abbotsford, and Mission homes. These positions involve direct support to children and youth in care.

Weekend availability is a MUST and candidates will not be considered without a class 5 driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

If you’re passionate about helping young people feel safe, valued, and supported, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role
We’re looking for compassionate, skilled team members who understand that growth begins with relationship. As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll provide day-to-day support to children and youth in care — helping them navigate school, therapy, personal care, medical appointments, and daily life. You’ll model healthy relationships, teach life skills, and create a safe, nurturing environment using trauma-informed and non-violent approaches. You’ll be part of a multifaceted team, participating in team meetings and debriefings, ongoing trainings, and managing documentation, including daily logs, medication logs, incident reports and other related duties.

Responsibilities include supporting emotional and practical needs,

maintaining accurate documentation, following care plans and safety protocols, attending appointments and meetings, cultural, community and therapeutic activities, and assisting with light household tasks, groceries and meal preparation.

- Ability to support youth with complex needs, including mental health, aggression, addictions, FASD, ASD, and trauma

- Preference for certification in Mandt, or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) or equivalent (in house certification in Mandt is provided)

- Class 5 Driver’s License, reliable vehicle with $2 million liability insurance, and a clean driver’s abstract (Class 4 considered an asset)
- FOIPPA (Privacy) training and MCFD background screening (Criminal Record Check and Prior Contact Search)

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and participate in physical activities such as walking, hiking, swimming, gardening, and light yard maintenance
