Shop Service Technician – Dartmouth

We are the largest company in Atlantic Canada dedicated exclusively to material handling equipment; we have been providing our customers with high quality equipment, rentals, parts, and service since 1993. With branches located in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, we are looking for a Shop Service Technician to join our growing team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the Service Supervisor you will be responsible for:

· Maintaining mechanical and physical condition of service equipment.

· Performing scheduled maintenance work.

· Maintaining customer’s equipment in a cost-effective manner.

- Determining if the parts required for the repair are on hand.
- Completing service report and job timecard on a timely basis.
- Assisting, as required, with the shipping and receiving of machines and parts.
- Moving of stored machines as required, to free-up shop space.
- Working and adhering to the Company’s occupational health and safety guidelines.
- Completing paperwork for the Company’s service revenue billing system on a timely basis.
- Attending training as directed by the Service Supervisor.




- Other duties as assigned by the Shop Service Supervisor.

Skill Requirements:

- Previous experience in an industrial environment considered a strong asset.
- Previous electrical, diesel, hydraulic, automotive and heavy-duty equipment technical experience.
- Good analytical skills to diagnose mechanical problems with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple jobs at one time.
- Ability to lift to 70 lbs.
- Ability to complete paperwork for multiple jobs accurately and timely.
- Provide current and suitable Driver’s Abstract.
- Provide current and suitable Driver’s License.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with co-workers.
- Automotive Service Technician Certification/Red Seal considered an asset.
