Position Summary:

We are looking for someone with a passion for Health & Safety and Training, for a supervisory level role in our Toronto Flight Kitchen. Reporting into the Manager, Operations, Safety, this position is responsible for promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture across airside operations, with a primary focus on ramp activities and compliance. This role ensures adherence to company, customer, and regulatory safety requirements through proactive monitoring, coaching, and reporting. The position also supports interior safety through participation in incident investigations and corrective actions, as required. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Safety Compliance & Monitoring

- Ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory safety and security policies through preventative and corrective actions.
- Conduct formal audits, SQORs (Safety Quality Observation Reports), and routine observations to validate operational safety performance.
- Perform regular walkthroughs of dock and production areas to identify at-risk behaviors, ensure PPE compliance, and maintain housekeeping standards.

Operational Oversight (Airside)

- Monitor ramp operations, including driver behavior, catering activities onboard aircraft, and support vehicle compliance.
- Ensure all vehicles meet company and GTAA safety standards





Coaching & Safety Culture

- Provide real-time, on-the-spot coaching to employees, reinforcing safe behaviors and addressing at-risk actions.
- Promote a positive safety culture through leadership visibility, engagement, and leading by example.
- Participate in and support shift briefings, FMT sessions, and safety campaigns, ensuring key messages are communicated effectively.

Incident Management & Reporting

- Investigate accidents and incidents (interior and exterior), determine root causes, and document findings through appropriate systems.
- Support management in developing and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Prepare, review, and analyze safety reports and trends.

Training & Development

- Conduct Airside Skills Certifications to assess competency and identify retraining needs.
- Coordinate with the Training and Transport department to deliver recurrent trainings for employees.
- Develop safety materials.

Continuous Improvement

- Conduct risk assessments on operational processes based on observed behaviors, company standards, and industry best practices.

Communication & Collaboration

- Maintain effective communication with leadership, employees, and customers regarding safety performance and expectations.
- Participate in safety meetings, and operational discussions to address risks and drive improvements.

Additional Responsibilities

- Remain visible in operations, proactively engaging with employees and addressing concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
