- Set up and operate Amada CNC brake press machines to bend, form, and shape sheet metal.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Select, install, and adjust proper tooling, dies, and machine settings.
- Conduct first-article inspections and verify part dimensions using calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and consistency throughout production runs.
- Make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances and minimize scrap.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of brake press equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and quality control to resolve production issues.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating Amada brake press machines (or equivalent CNC press brakes).
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, protractors, etc.).
- Mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred:
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication workplace.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Basic CNC programming knowledge specific to Amada controls.
