Camp Cooks

We are looking for an experience camp cook. You will work typically a 2 week in & 2 week out rotation. While in camp, you will work for 14 days straight, usually 10 - 12 hours per day. While there, you have free accommodations and meals.

Transport will be provided to camp to and from Thunder Bay.

Tasks and Responsibilities Including:

- Prepping, cooking, and serving of meals in a 30-50 person work camp
- Wash, scrub, clean, and sanitize designated kitchen and dining areas
- Clean kitchen and dining room floors and tables
- Clean refrigerators, ovens, and other kitchen equipment
- Wash pots, dishes, glasses, cups, etc., after each meal and as required
- Restock and rotate desserts, sandwiches, beverages, and condiments
- Assist in loading, unloading, and placing supplies and inventory
- Assist in making grab-and-go food items
- Complete daily bed counts
- Keep accurate records of camp tenants
- Manage kitchen assistant and camp cleaning staff and assist in daily room cleaning
- Keep an accurate record of bedding.
- Keep an inventory of all cleaning supplies to ensure there is an adequate stock




- Ensure all chemicals and cleaners are safely stored in proper storage containers and areas by complying with WHMIS and HSE guidelines
- Additional duties may be assigned

We are looking for someone who has...

- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must have good time management skills and the ability to multi-task
- Minimum 1 year experience in a work camp workplace
- Food Handler's Certificate, which can be completed online through the health unit
- Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English

Physical Demands Requirements(Must be able to):

- Stand and squat for long periods of time with scheduled breaks
- Short and long distance walking required
- Use of step stools and stairs
- Use force when push/pulling carts that weigh an average of 22.5kg
- Must be able to crouch, bend neck, back, and torso from waist to floor, and must be able to twist from left to right without restriction
- Be able to lift up to 50lbs

Pay will be commensurate with experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $325.00-$350.00 per day
