Svenska Builders Ltd. is one of Saskatchewan’s primary installers of metal building systems & metal cladding and is currently looking for new candidates to join our team.

What are metal building systems?

- By definition, a metal building system is a metal structure fabricated with steel for internal support and for exterior cladding. Metal building systems are used for a variety of purposes and are classified into specific types depending on their intended use.

Established in 2016, Svenska has ranked in the top 100 builders across North American on Metal Construction News’ Top 100 builders list for the past 5 years. With an established clientele of manufacturers & general contractor’s we have averaged 180,000 sqft of construction per year over that time and are working on our 135th structure during our decade of building.

A common phrase while at work is “work smarter, not harder”, and translates to refining our process’ and improving our quality continually. We are out of the box thinkers and use a variety of industry training and experimentation to instill solid skills into our team.

What will your first few months at Svenska look like?

- Online training through the Metal Building Institute to ensure you have a solid foundation to build your career upon.

- Fall arrest & Mobile elevating work platform training for working at heights.

- On site 6-week training period with an experienced Svenska team member before you’re set out on your own.

- 12-week review at the end of your probationary period

What is required?

- A working phone for scheduling & time tracking

- Steel toe boots, hard hat & work apparel

- Class 5 licenses aren’t required but are a paid premium.

Wage is based on construction industry knowledge and ranges from 19$ to 35$ an hour.

If someone does not have prior construction industry experience, we will definitely consider your application. Everyone needs an opportunity to get their foot in the door and in our experience some of the best team members we’ve had, may have been overlooked at another employer’s office.

This position is also available as a temporary summer job to university and high school students, currently we have 1 member returning from his studies in Lethbridge for his 4th year of work.

The second team member ever employed here has been here for a decade, with 15 years of industry experience as well we have a handful of 4-, 3-, 2-& 1-year employees respectively.
