Duties
- Skillfully cut, trim, and prepare different types of meat according to specifications and safety standards
- Package meat products efficiently while maintaining freshness and presentation quality
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health regulations and safety protocols
- Assist customers with their selections, answer questions about cuts and preparation methods, and provide excellent service
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and storage areas to uphold food safety standards
- Rotate stock properly to minimize waste and ensure product freshness
- Follow all food safety guidelines during meat processing, handling, and packaging to prevent contamination
Experience
- Prior experience in the food industry, particularly in butchery or meat cutting, is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and proper meat handling practices
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and sanitation procedures
- Kitchen experience that demonstrates comfort working with knives, cutting equipment, and packaging tools
- Strong customer service skills with an ability to communicate effectively with shoppers
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads safely, and work efficiently in a quick-paced environment
