The primary purpose of the Taxi Dispatcher is to maintain the order of the cabs at the taxi stand and dispatch vehicles and drivers to meet customer’s transportation needs. Conveys a high profile of the company by being neatly dressed and offering quality customer service courteously. This position requires control, multi-tasking, superior organizational skills, honesty, strong leadership, patience, and unbiased nature. The smooth and efficient operation of the taxi company is entirely dependent on the dedication, expertise and professionalism of the dispatch/call taker staff.

Responsibilities

- Monitor drivers to ensure quality work performance
- Assist drivers in answering questions and solving problems
- Must be able to sustain a high level of fair play, honesty and consistency
- Duties require the use of considerable initiative, judgment, and resourcefulness
- Position requires working under pressure to meet deadlines, expertise in dealing with people and situations involving complex issues, and establishing cooperative and productive work relationships
- Meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, handles change, sets personal standards, meets attendance/punctuality requirements
- Have the communication skills to relay messages through a phone system
- Utilizing professional telephone etiquette including being patient with drivers and customers, must be able to give effective instructions
- Handle customer inquiries both telephonically and by email in a timely manner
- Manage and resolve customer complaints
- Enter new customer information into system




- Must be technology and Microsoft office friendly
- Update existing customer information and keep track of customer accounts
- Maintain a clean work-space

Must follow dispatching guidelines

- Do not ask units for favors such as buying coffee, food, etc.
- Do not sell fares for kick back
- Failure to follow these guidelines will lead to corrective action and/or termination

Experience

- Minimum 2 years of experience required in same industry.
