The Capital Investment Project Manager is an experienced project leader who combines hands-on operational involvement in the execution of large-scale projects with strong people leadership skills to guide, coach, and develop their team in delivering the organization’s full portfolio of projects. This role will contribute to strategic discussions to help define the organization’s current and future infrastructure needs.

Key Responsibilities

Project Governance and Leadership

- Assign and oversee project mandates with your team across all company sites (Quebec, British Columbia, and Florida)
- Review investment requests prepared by the team to ensure they are complete, accurate, and aligned before submission to senior leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the organization’s most complex projects
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee project execution phases (timelines, quality standards, critical milestones, cost control, etc.)
- Maintain up-to-date project plans and ensure alignment between priorities, timelines, and resources for each initiative
- Update project tracking tools to provide visibility on progress, deadlines, and resource utilization
- Drive continuous improvement of project management methodologies, processes, and best practices

Financial Oversight and Risk Management

- Monitor project budgets and ensure effective cost control
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on project progress,



identify gaps versus expected performance and timelines, and recommend appropriate corrective actions
- Anticipate risks that may impact project delivery (scope changes, delays, significant cost overruns) and communicate mitigation plans to leadership

Stakeholder Coordination and Supplier Management

- Foster collaboration and ensure regular communication among multidisciplinary teams (Operations, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Human Resources, etc.)
- Support the development of project specifications and participate in identifying and selecting appropriate suppliers based on project requirements
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and contract management of external contractors and service providers

Team Development and Quality

- Develop team capabilities by providing coaching, training, guidance, and the necessary tools to successfully deliver organizational projects
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, food safety requirements, and occupational health and safety regulations

Collaboration

Work closely with:

- Senior Director, PMO, Infrastructure & Facilities
- Project Management team
- External engineering firms
- Cross-functional teams (Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Human Resources, etc.)

Main Responsibilities

Education and Experience





- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, including 3 to 5 years managing multidisciplinary projects in a manufacturing and food processing environment
- Experience implementing CAPEX projects in a multi-site environment
- Membership with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (an asset)
- PMP certification (a strong asset)
- Knowledge of manufacturing and/or agricultural environments (an asset)

Technical Skills

- Knowledge of Front-End Loading (FEL) principles
- Knowledge of Early Equipment Management (EEM)
- Proficiency with project tracking and project management tools

Personal Skills and Qualities

- Excellent communicator with solid active listening skills and the ability to effectively identify the needs of internal clients, team members, and stakeholders
- Outstanding planning and organizational skills, with the ability to clearly visualize project critical paths, plan required actions, and anticipate potential obstacles
- Flexible and resilient, with the ability to adapt quickly to challenges and adjust course when needed
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing, and multidisciplinary environment (manufacturing, agriculture, innovation, etc.)
- Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written, required
- Availability for occasional travel to our facilities in British Columbia and Florida (a few times per year, depending on ongoing projects)
