Job description

The Sales Associate position is fast paced, involving constant interaction with customers in person and over the phone, with the use of a computerized auto parts look up system…explaining product benefits and fulfilling customer needs. Helping customers is combined with store maintenance activities such as stocking shelves, merchandising and general housekeeping.

Responsibilities

- Providing excellent customer service
- Guide customer to the location of the requested items
- Handle customer inquiries and request in a timely manner
- Keep up to date on in-store promotions, in store deals and product locations
- Follows established procedures
- Stock shelves
- Maintain inventory accuracy
- operate computers and enter all relevant coding of the Canadian Tire system

Requirements

- Demonstrates automotive knowledge and interest
- Basic math and typing skills
- good working knowledge of automotive parts lookup




- ability to work under minimal supervision with computerized systems
- Highly approachable, customer oriented individual
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a team setting that provides assistance and support to co-workers to achieve common goals
- ability to multitask, adapt and cope with challenging and rapid changing situations
- positive attitude, punctual and solid work ethic

Physical Demands

- Standing/walking for up to 8 hours
- Lifting and carrying of merchandise on a regular basis. Merchandise may vary in weight from "light" to "heavy"
- Climbing ladders
- Complete other tasks as required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00-$16.00 per hour
