Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership: Lead the organization's budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and month-end and year-end closing activities.
Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, cash flow analyses, and performance dashboards for senior leadership.
Budget Management: Develop and monitor departmental budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend strategies to improve financial performance.
Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations, internal controls, and corporate financial policies.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor finance professionals, delegate responsibilities, conduct performance evaluations, and foster continuous improvement within the finance team.
Business Partnership: Collaborate with department managers to provide financial analysis, operational insights, and recommendations that support strategic initiatives.
Audit Coordination: Manage internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely preparation of documentation and implementation of audit recommendations.
Process Improvement: Evaluate financial systems and workflows, recommending automation and process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: 8-10+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or financial management, including 3-5 years leading finance teams or managing complex financial operations.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline. CPA designation is strongly preferred.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial controls, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel. Experience with cloud accounting platforms is an asset.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop finance professionals while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and financial analysis abilities with strong attention to detail.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Mindset: A proactive, results-oriented professional who demonstrates integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to continuous improvement while supporting organizational goals.
Pay: $6,393.00-$7,000.00 per month
