We currently have an opportunity for a part-time Child Care Float team member in the Before & After School Program at Lambton Kingsway Junior Middle School in Etobicoke.

The Before & After School Program is licensed by the Ministry of Education to provide before and after school care for kindergarten and school age children from September to June and a school age Day Camp in the summer.

About You

We are looking for an individual who:

· Are interested afternoon part-time hours (2:30pm – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday)

· Can create and maintain a safe, positive and enriching workplace for children

· Thrives in providing quality programming to children (experience following the ELECT Curriculum an asset)

· Provides a warm, nurturing and caring environment for children

· Are reliable, self-motivated and a team player.

· Values building and maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues, children, families, students and other educators.

About the role

· The float will provide coverage for staff for absences in the kindergarten and school age program

· Working alongside staff to implement program

· Assisting staff with transitions and room supervision





· Engaging with the children and supporting them through their learning opportunities

Things We Look For

· We are open to Children and Youth Workers, Social Workers and School Teachers, ideally with school age / child care experience.

· Experience working in a childcare centre and working within a team

· Knowledge of child development and the Child Care and Early Years Act

· Awareness of allergies and health and safety practices in licensed childcare centres

· Flexible team player who adapts to the needs of children, educators and the program

· Problem solving, multi-tasking and time management skills

· Clear vulnerable sector screening

· First Aid Certification

· Prior Before & After School program experience an asset
