Microboard & Individualized Funding Mentor (Full-Time)
Location: (BC / Remote)
Schedule: Full time | Day Shift (Mon-Fri)

Job Summary

Vela Canada is seeking a Microboard & Individualized Funding Mentor to support individuals and families in building strong, person-centred networks and navigating self-directed living options. This role provides practical mentoring, education, and guidance related to Microboards, Person Centred Societies, and individualized funding, helping people understand responsibilities, develop sustainable support plans, and strengthen governance and decision-making supports.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide one-on-one mentoring to individuals, families, and support networks

- Facilitate workshops, information sessions, and community learning opportunities

- Support planning and implementation of person-centred supports and self-directed living strategies

- Develop and maintain clear resources, guides, and toolkits

- Assist with problem-solving, conflict navigation, and relationship-building within support circles

- Collaborate with community partners, stakeholders, and service providers

- Maintain accurate program notes, documentation,



and reporting requirements

Qualifications / Requirements

- Experience in community-based support, disability services, non-profit programs, or a related field

- Strong facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills

- Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building abilities

- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality

- Comfortable using common digital tools (email, spreadsheets, virtual meeting platforms)

- Knowledge of self-directed funding models, Microboards, or person-centred planning is an asset
