Annual salary: $ 131,100.00 - 165,800.00

Position Highlights
The role reports to the Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Program and Planning and is located within Technology's
Cybersecurity & Compliance department. Key capabilities for the role include the ability to assess and address complex
issues, develop high-performing teams, establish and manage priorities and budgets, and effectively communicate progress
and risk to senior leaders.

The Manager, CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) Planning & Practices supports the BC Hydro CIP Senior Manager in
ensuring BC Hydro meets its MRS CIP compliance responsibilities. This includes supporting compliance activities across
multiple business groups, fostering alignment of CIP practices across the organization, and providing leadership for
enterprise-wide CIP planning. MRS CIP compliance is a regulatory requirement in the Province of British Columbia and, as
such, this work is critical to managing compliance and reliability risk for BC Hydro.

What you'll do

- Provides qualified and subject matter expertise support to the CIP Senior Manager in accordance with BC Hydro's

MRS Internal Compliance Program (ICP), including those accountabilities and responsibilities assigned to the CIP Senior
Manager.

- Ensures the CIP Planning & Practices team effectively supports the CIP Senior Manager, Compliance Office, CIP

Governance and Execution Delegates, and Compliance Leads across the business.





- Establishes and facilitates a network of CIP Practice Leads across BC Hydro to promote consistency, coordination,

knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of CIP compliance activities, enabling the CIP Senior Manager to
effectively discharge their enterprise accountabilities.

- Supports execution of the accountabilities assigned to the CIP Senior Manager to achieve, sustain, and demonstrate

compliance with all applicable MRS CIP standards and requirements.

- Leads a team of professional staff responsible for CIP planning, compliance practices, CIP training and awareness,

mitigation activities, and continuous improvement activities.

Specific Duties Include

- Maintains awareness of new and revised CIP standards, providing input on drafting, commenting, and industry

engagement activities as needed;

- Leads enterprise CIP planning activities and supports prioritization of compliance initiatives and strategic program

improvements. Conducts impact assessments, implementation planning, and identifies investment and resource
requirements.

- Develops and maintains enterprise CIP policies, programs, frameworks, and plans, and promotes consistency in business

group processes, procedures, and internal controls to meet CIP requirements.

- Leads forums and working groups involving CIP Practice Leads and key stakeholders across BC Hydro to align

compliance approaches, share lessons learned, and resolve cross-functional issues.

- Monitors compliance processes and internal controls, providing a consolidated enterprise view of program effectiveness

and risks.

- Assesses compliance and reliability risk exposures and works with business groups to address gaps and drive continuous

improvement.

- Oversees the development and implementation of CIP mitigation plans, including work-back schedules, project plans,

mitigation solutions and actions, preparation of attestations, evidence packages, and related supporting documentation.

- Provides input into the internal risk-based MRS Compliance Assurance Plan; participates in assurance reviews and





audits; reviews and supports management action plans.

What you bring

- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Security or related field, or equivalent

education/experience.

- 10+ years of experience demonstrating increasing responsibility managing technical and skilled teams

- 5+ years directly related practical experience in policy, risk, compliance, or cybersecurity

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with a calm and assertive presence

- Effective presentation skills, including the ability to convey complex technical issues to diverse audiences.

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of NERC Reliability Standards and regulatory activities as well as WECC

and BC Hydro reporting and compliance activities

- Excellent interpersonal skills including relationship building at all levels in the organization

- Excellent executive level communication skills including writing, presenting, and facilitation

- Strong leadership with the demonstrated ability to build, motivate, and maintain high performing teams

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize work of others

- Ability to collaborate with diverse teams across a large enterprise and effectively facilitate options analysis and decision-

making

- Large corporate experience, utility or public service experience would be an asset

- Relevant cybersecurity certifications would be an asset
