Very unique experience for a 60 Ton captain!

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced 60 Ton Captain to lead the operation of our innovative Adrift Floating Sauna vessel. This role involves overseeing all navigational, safety, and operational aspects of the floating sauna, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for guests while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Our transport Canada-approved vessel will Operate within 1.5 nautical miles from our commercial dock, within the Sooke Basin, Vancouver Island.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, mechanical knowledge, multilingual abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. As the captain, you will be responsible for managing crew members, coordinating daily operations, and ensuring compliance with maritime regulations.

Ceritfications and Job Experience:

- 60 Ton Captain certification
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience working with the public
- Marine tourism or hospitality experience is an asset
- Wellness & Guest Experience Staff
- DVS (Domestic Vessel Safety) certification
- 20-hour First Aid certification

Duties

- Safely operate and navigate the floating sauna vessel, adhering to all maritime laws and safety protocols
- Lead and supervise the crew, providing clear instructions and fostering a collaborative team environment
- Conduct regular inspections of the vessel’s mechanical systems, including engines, HVAC, plumbing, and safety equipment
- Manage guest interactions with professionalism and enthusiasm, ensuring outstanding customer service at all times
- Coordinate daily schedules for maintenance, cleaning, guest bookings, and special events
- Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools to monitor vessel location and navigation routes accurately




- Oversee safety drills and emergency procedures to ensure preparedness for any situation

Qualifications

- Proven experience as a ship captain or in a supervisory maritime role with knowledge of mechanical systems
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or managerial experience in a marine environment
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently
- Solid understanding of GIS technology for navigation purposes
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Mechanical knowledge related to marine engines and vessel systems
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as required
