Hourly Wage Range: $27.94-$36.31 per hour (commensurate with education & experience)

Type: Permanent Full-Time

Details: Standard of 40 working hours per week.

Location: Cowessess First Nation and Regina, SK

Who is Chief Red Bear Children’s Lodge?

Through the organization Chief Red Bear Children’s Lodge (CRBCL), Cowessess First Nation is the first Indigenous community in Canada to assert its jurisdiction over child welfare and family services under the Bill-C92 Canada Act. CRBCL is currently developing its operations, in accordance with the Miyo Pimatisowin Act, which provides support for its children and families in a way that is rooted in traditional Indigenous values and cultural practices.

Position Summary

CRBCL is seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our growing Finance Department. This is an opportunity to showcase your attention to detail in a fast paced and expanding organization. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, exceptional organizational skills and working knowledge of accounting software.

The Accounts Payable Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with both clerical and administrative tasks. Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with Human Resources, the Accounts Payables Coordinator will be primarily responsible for assisting with payment processing, some payroll tasks, financial reporting, following up on invoices and collecting and reviewing data for reports & reconciliation.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

- Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- 2 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Coordinator or similar role (preferred).
- Similar combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Understanding of Financial competencies and best practices.
- Highly computer literate with intermediate knowledge of Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook) required.




- Experience with computerized accounting systems
- Valid class 5 driver’s license.

In addition, the incumbent must provide a successful criminal background check with vulnerable sector search as well as be willing and able to commute to the CRBCL Head Office on a regular basis, which is located on Cowessess First Nation, SK.
