App Engineer

Product-Minded Mobile Engineering, UX Design & Cross-Stack Ownership

Full-time Hybrid, Victoria BC preferred, Calgary AB and SF

About The Role You will own the product people touch every day. This role leads the mobile experience for the Energy Router, shipping polished UX/UI in React Native inside a stack that spans hardware, firmware, cloud, and AI. You own product judgment, interface quality, and execution. There is no traditional product layer between engineering and the user.

What you'll own

- The mobile product experience for the Energy Router
- UX/UI decisions for complex, real-time energy data and controls
- Product decisions for the surfaces you own

- Cross-stack contribution where needed across frontend, backend, and infrastructure

What you'll bring
- Strong React Native and TypeScript experience
- Evidence of shipped mobile products with strong design quality

- Product judgment: you can decide what should be built and why
- Strong UX/UI sensibility without needing a designer as a crutch
- Comfort working across ambiguity and incomplete information

Nice to have




- Experience with hardware-connected apps or IoT products
- Experience with data-dense interfaces or real-time control surfaces
- Familiarity with backend systems, APIs, or cloud infrastructure

What success looks like in the first 6 months
- You ship meaningful improvements to the mobile experience quickly
- The app feels more coherent, more polished, and easier to trust

- You establish clear product ownership over the surfaces you touch

Compensation Canada: C$95,000 - C$135,000 California: US$135,000 - US$185,000
