The App Store

Connect team is seeking a skilled Backend Java Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance server-side systems. These critical services empower millions of developers worldwide to manage, submit, and distribute their apps across Apple's platforms. Design, develop, and implement high-quality, scalable backend services and APIs using Java and related technologies.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code,



contributing to a high standard of engineering excellence. Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineering teams, to translate product requirements into technical specifications and deliver end-to-end solutions. Contribute to the technical design and architecture of new features and system enhancements, ensuring alignment with overall platform strategy.

Work with large datasets and sophisticated data models, enhancing and maintaining core domain models and business logic that power developer workflows. Troubleshoot and debug sophisticated production issues, ensuring system stability, reliability, and optimal performance. Participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality, share knowledge, and foster a team-oriented development environment.

Continuously optimize existing services for performance, efficiency, and scalability to meet growing demands. 4+ years of current and professional experience in designing, developing, and supporting highly scalable, high-performance backend applications. Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming, with a deep understanding of core Java concepts, concurrency, and multithreading.





Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and their practical application in building efficient and scalable software. Proven ability to write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, with experience in unit, integration, and performance testing. Proven ability to contribute to architectural discussions and design scalable, resilient backend systems BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, EE, or equivalent industry experience is required.

Experience with distributed systems, large-scale data processing, and messaging technologies (e.g., Expertise in performance tuning, profiling, and optimizing Java applications and backend services. Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting production systems in a high-traffic environment.
