This is a part-time, remote Application Developer role.
The Application
Developer will design, develop, and maintain web-based applications that support the platform’s data, research, and advisory services. Day-to-day tasks include implementing new features, fixing bugs, and optimizing performance for existing applications. The role involves working with databases to manage data integrity, building and maintaining APIs and integrations with internal and external systems, and ensuring user interfaces are responsive and accessible.
The Application
Developer will collaborate with product, data,
and research teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, document code and system architecture, and follow secure development practices. Qualifications
Robust skills in Software Development and Programming for web-based applications.
Experience working with Databases, including data modeling, queries, and performance optimization.
Proficiency in Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and front-end implementation for responsive, user-friendly interfaces.
Ability to design and manage Integration between services, APIs, and data sources.
Experience with at least one modern programming language or framework (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, React, Node.js, or similar).
Understanding of secure coding practices, testing methodologies, and version control (e.g., Git).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and code quality.
Ability to work independently in a remote workplace and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with data-driven or analytics platforms;
experience in energy, resource, or Indigenous-related projects is an asset.
Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent practical experience in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
