Position Overview

We are seeking motivated Apprentice Plumbers to join our growing team on commercial and residential projects in the Vancouver area. This is a hands-on opportunity to build your trade under the guidance of experienced Red Seal journeymen while working on a wide variety of projects, from tenant improvements to new construction and service work. The ideal candidate is reliable, eager to learn, and takes pride in doing quality work safely.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Construction

- Assist journeymen with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems on commercial, residential, and tenant-improvement projects.
- Support rough-in, top-out, and finishing work, including water supply, drainage, venting, and fixture installation.
- Measure, cut, thread, and prepare pipe and fittings as directed.
- Learn to read and work from drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Site Support & Learning
- Handle material deliveries, staging, and organization in office.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and ready for the next phase of work.
- Ask questions, take direction well, and actively build your knowledge of the BC Plumbing Code and trade best practices.
- Progress through hands-on tasks with increasing responsibility as your skills develop.

Compliance & Safety
- Follow all VIS safety standards, site-specific safety plans, and WorkSafeBC regulations.




- Participate in toolbox meetings and safety orientations.
- Use tools and equipment properly and report hazards or concerns promptly.

Team Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with journeymen, project managers, and other trades on-site.
- Complete timecards and assist with basic material tracking and documentation.
- Represent VIS professionally with clients and on job sites.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Registered (or willing to register) as a Plumber Apprentice with SkilledTradesBC. All levels welcome to apply.
- Completion of a plumbing foundation program is an asset but not required.
- Prior construction or trade experience is an asset.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, climbing, and working in varied site conditions.
- Valid BC driver's licence and reliable transportation preferred.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a genuine interest in building a career in the trade.

Compensation & Benefits

- Hourly Rate: $20 to $44 per hour, based on apprenticeship level and experience.

Pay: $20.00-$44.00 per hour
