Our client, a leading global alternative investment firm, is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Fund Tax to join their expanding operations. This is a newly created position offering the chance to work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and fund administrators to support tax compliance across a growing portfolio of Canadian investment funds.
What you'll be doing:
- Support fund tax structuring initiatives and coordinate with internal teams and external tax advisors.
- Manage CRA and Revenue Québec registrations, tax accounts, and ongoing correspondence.
- Coordinate tax payment processes with Fund Administration and Finance teams.
- Oversee tax notices, documentation, and communication with regulatory authorities.
- Assist with Canadian income tax and sales tax compliance, working alongside external service providers.
- Coordinate the collection and distribution of tax documents, including investor tax reporting.
- Support operational processes by managing tax-related systems, documentation, and stakeholder communications.
- Play a key role in a newly created position with significant visibility and ownership.
- Work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment.
What we're looking for:
- Experience in tax, fund accounting, public accounting, or investment operations.
- Previous experience working with the CRA is considered an asset.
- Robust Excel skills and confidence learning new systems.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- A cooperative mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving setting.
