LIGHT-DUTY AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC WANTED
Waverley, Ontario A locally owned and operated automotive shop in Waverley is looking for a dependable Light-Duty Automotive Mechanic or Automotive Apprentice to join our team.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working on a steady variety of vehicles without the pressure of a customer-facing repair shop.
Our shop prepares used cars, trucks and SUVs for a retail automotive dealership and wholesale export. You will not be working on retail customer vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Perform general mechanical inspections
- Complete brake, suspension and steering repairs
- Perform oil changes and fluid services
- Diagnose check-engine lights and electrical issues
- Complete minor engine and electrical repairs
- Prepare vehicles for Ontario safety inspections
- Complete repairs required for retail and wholesale vehicles
- Keep the work area clean, safe and organized
Experience with automotive body preparation for painting is considered an asset.
Position Details
- Approximately 30–40 hours per week
- Monday-to-Friday schedule
- No retail customer work
- Steady variety of cars, trucks and SUVs
- Small, locally owned and operated shop
- Tools and equipment available in office
- Competitive hourly pay based on experience
- Licensed 310S mechanic preferred
- Experienced apprentices and qualified non-licensed candidates will also be considered
