Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Bakery Clerk to join our team, we are looking for somebody for roughly 2 days a week, Friday and Saturday availability is a MUST. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with food preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized bakery environment.

The Bakery

Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring our customers have a positive shopping experience while adhering to food safety and sanitation standards. Prior experience in food service, retail, or the food industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided to the right candidate. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, sales, and customer service within a dynamic bakery setting.

Responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their selections
- Prepare and package baked goods according to company standards
- Operate POS system for transactions
- Handle cash register operations including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Upsell products and suggest additional items to increase sales
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery area, including food safety practices in both the front and kitchen of bakery.
- Restock shelves and ensure proper product presentation
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, following safety guidelines
- Support in baking, cleaning,



or food preparation tasks if required, utilizing culinary skills
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed at all times
- Manage time effectively to serve customers efficiently during busy periods, or be able to multitask during slower periods

Skills

- Experience in food preparation, food service, or retail environments preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Valuable time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper handling procedures
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Experience working in quick service or fast-food restaurants
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Kitchen or café experience is beneficial but not mandatory
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
