Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance about bakery products, including baked goods, cakes, and pastries
- Assist with cake decorating and food presentation to enhance product appeal
- Prepare and package baked items efficiently while adhering to food safety and handling protocols
- Support the kitchen team with food preparation, cooking, and baking tasks as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales area, display cases, and packaging stations
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety standards to guarantee product quality and safety
- Manage stock levels, restock shelves, and assist in inventory counts to keep the bakery well-supplied
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of cake decorating techniques is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Basic food preparation and cooking skills; familiarity with baking processes preferred
- Understanding of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with packaging baked goods for retail sale is advantageous
